Youth Sessions“I’m just too strong’: Badminton player breaks racket on match point.
With a flick of the wrist former World Champion Viktor Axelsen broke his racket on the winning shot and was left holding only the handle. (Thailand BWF Toyota Open quarter-finals January 2021)
Now for most of you, you’ll be thinking Badminton? Too Strong? This seemingly gentle and balletic sport conjures up images of sunny afternoons on the lawn with home made lemonade. Now, consider Viktor’s final shuttle may have been flying as fast as 426 km/h . That’s nearly twice the speed of the fastest recorded shot in tennis according to Guinness World Records.
Speed, agility and strategy are all interlocked in Badminton and as a team sport, there’s also lots of new friends and faces to meet -, all part of the social aspect of the game which is so important for Juniors and young people today to build confidence.
Cooroy Badminton Club offers a friendly and inclusive club environment to learn one of the fastest games on the planet. With Annual Junior membership at $10 and at $2 per session, ( rackets and shuttles supplied,) its surely one of the best value sports around.
So if you want your kids to learn a sport that you can play all year round, come rain or shine and build friendships that last a lifetime, sign your children up for our Junior Badminton Club. Or ask your school or Youth club if they’re already participating in our badminton program*.
