Badminton is one of the fastest and most popular sports (after soccer) in the world and is a lot of fun to play. Beginners can quickly learn the skills required to play social games and most of our new members make good progress to start playing competitively.
We are a small and growing club with a friendly and social atmosphere. There are regular weekly social sessions which are played in one of the state’s rare purpose-built Badminton halls complete with its Olympic grade floor surface.
Cooroy is situated just 20 minutes west of Noosa and 140km north of Brisbane, Queensland. The courts are located at the end of Emerald Street.
We have members ranging from age 7 up to 82 years old, so why not visit us and give badminton a go?
All levels of ability are welcome at our friendly social sessions on Monday nad Wednesday mornings from 9.30 am till 12noon.
The club can provide rackets for new players free of charge, for a few weeks, so that you can try the sport before you buy your own equipment. Shuttles are provided.
Join for just $10 a year. A session costs just $5 for members, or $7 for visitors. Evening sessions start at 7.45, Mondays and Fridays.
Juniors coaching begins Friday 11th January from 3.30 - 5.30pm. Trent Dwyer, a qualified Queensland Badminton Association - Level 1 coach, has been playing since he was a junior at age 11 years and a long time member of the Cooroy Club. Cooroy has over the years provided the Queensland team with many of its junior star players.
